This policy explains how we handle information through our website, dealer services, forms and campaign measurement, and how you can contact us about your information.
Information we collect
Depending on the service you use, we may collect:
- Inquiries and support: your name, email address, telephone number, company or dealer details, and information you include in a message.
- Dealer accounts and orders: account and branch details, contact people, billing and shipping addresses, order details, purchase order references, delivery instructions and related correspondence.
- Campaign and rebate submissions: contact and location details, equipment information, proof of sale and other information requested on the submission form.
We use this information to respond to requests, manage accounts, process and support orders, administer campaigns and rebates, and maintain related business records. Please include only information relevant to your request.
Cookies & measurement
Website activity, cookies and similar technologies
Our website and its service providers use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies to support website functions and understand website activity. Depending on the service, information may include IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, product identifiers, referral or campaign information, cookie and click identifiers, and actions completed on the site.
Cookies and browser storage also support functions such as sign-in, carts and saved measurement preferences. Information associated with an identifier is not necessarily anonymous and may be linked to other information held by a service provider.
Company-managed analytics and campaign measurement
Sunnybrook uses company-managed Google, Meta and TikTok accounts to measure website activity and campaign performance. These services receive technical identifiers and information about website actions. This measurement is separate from the customer records and inquiry messages Sunnybrook manages internally.
Google analytics and advertising measurement
We use Google Analytics and Google advertising measurement to understand website use and assess campaign performance. These tools may receive website activity, device and browser information, identifiers and information about completed actions. Google processes information under its applicable terms and privacy policies.
The Meta and TikTok controls described below do not switch off Google Analytics or Google advertising measurement. Your browser and Google’s own privacy and advertising settings may provide additional controls.
Meta and TikTok campaign measurement
We use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok measurement integrations to assess how advertising relates to visits and actions on this website. The integrations can send information through browser tracking tools and server connections.
Measured activity includes page visits, adding products to an order list or cart, selecting a telephone contact action, submitting a contact form, and searching for or selecting a dealer. Depending on the action, the integrations may send product identifiers and quantities, action categories, page paths, event identifiers, and cookie or advertising click identifiers. The current Meta and TikTok event integrations send information about a form submission rather than the text of the submitted message.
Meta and TikTok receive this information for campaign measurement and process it under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. Browser requests to these platforms can also disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser information.
Privacy choices
Select Privacy Choices in the website footer to open separate controls for Facebook / Instagram and TikTok. Each platform’s choice is saved separately in your browser.
- Current default: Meta and TikTok measurement starts enabled unless an existing decline or a supported browser privacy signal disables it. For an initial TikTok visit without a saved TikTok choice, the integration also respects an existing Meta decline.
- Turning measurement off: use the relevant “Turn off” button to stop that integration from sending further measurement events through our browser and server connections. This does not remove information already sent to the platform.
- Browser signals: these integrations check Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals and disable their measurement when those signals are detected.
- Where your choice applies: preferences apply to the browser and device where you make them. You may need to choose again on another browser or device, or after clearing cookies and browser storage.
Opening or closing the Privacy Choices panel does not itself change your measurement preferences. These controls apply to Sunnybrook’s Meta and TikTok measurement integrations; they do not control every cookie, embedded service or third-party website.
You can also manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking or clearing them may affect sign-in, carts and other website functions.
Customer information
Sunnybrook manages customer records and inquiry messages internally for its business activities, with access restricted to authorized personnel. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to others. We do not provide customer records to unrelated parties for their own marketing. We may disclose information where required by law.
The Google, Meta and TikTok services described above receive website measurement information through Sunnybrook’s company-managed integrations. Managing these accounts internally does not prevent those platforms from processing the measurement data they receive.
Some pages include third-party services, such as embedded videos or spam protection. Interacting with those services may result in their providers receiving technical information and activity associated with that interaction. Third-party services and linked websites have their own privacy practices.
Measurement and embedded-service providers may process or store the information they receive outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of the applicable jurisdiction.
Protection & retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information and restrict access according to business needs. No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information as needed for the purpose for which we collected it, ongoing account and customer service, and applicable business and recordkeeping requirements. Retention varies by the type of information and service. Third-party providers apply their own retention practices to information they receive.
The Meta and TikTok integrations use preference cookies with a duration of approximately 180 days. Local browser preference records, including saved declines, can remain until browser storage is cleared. Other cookies and identifiers can have different lifetimes.
Your requests
Contact us to ask about our handling of your information, request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the request. Some information may need to be retained for order administration, recordkeeping or other applicable requirements.
For future Meta and TikTok measurement, you can use the footer controls directly. For information already held by Google, Meta or TikTok, their own privacy tools may also be relevant.
Internal reporting & updates
Internal audience reporting
Our internal audience reporting service connects authorized company social accounts to retrieve account metrics such as follower counts. That account connection is separate from website visitor measurement. Its use is described in the Sunnybrook Audience Reporting Terms of Use.
