SUNNYBROOK WELDING BLOG
What's new in Concaves at Sunnybrook:
Prototyping for 2025 Harvest
At Sunnybrook Combine Parts, we are always at the forefront of innovation in the agricultural industry, continually improving our concaves to meet the needs of modern farming. Here's a look at the latest developments and field tests happening with our concaves across different combine brands and regions.
CLAAS LEXION: Optimizing for Canola and Winter Wheat
We're closely monitoring the performance of Lexion products in both wide and narrow body machines in various regions, particularly in canola and winter wheat fields. Our concaves are configured with replaceable inserts in the front allowing to customize to your crop rotation. We offer a small grain version, large grain version as well as a multi-crop version. These combinations are designed to maximize threshing and separation efficiency at the front end to the highest efficiency and yield during the harvest season.
All New APS Grates and Drum
You've asked and we've listened! New for the 2024 harvest season are the 'pre-concaves' (aka APS Grates) and soon to follow for harvest 2025 is the all new APS drum to pair with them. Our grates, like all of our Sunnybrook products, are made more robust to stand up to the wear and tear that the combine undergoes. Easily replaceable and are available in various varieties ranging from 19mm smooth to a smaller 6mm keyed to maximize your threshing. Our APS drum is in prototype stages and will be out for testing this harvest. Stay tuned for the features being released soon!
NEW HOLLAND: Field Testing and Global Reach
We continue to gather critical field data with our New Holland CR combines. Our ongoing collaboration with innovative farmers ensures that we are constantly testing and improving the durability and performance of our products. Our New Holland concaves are now available with updated combinations and full kit options including extension grates.
JOHN DEERE: Engaging with the Community and Innovating
Our all crop concave design, which has gained significant traction over the years, continues to show fantastic results when used in STS and S series rotaries. The design balances threshing and separation with the capability to run through a range of crops without, yes without, having to change concaves. We now also offer a hard threshing setup as well as an easy threshing set up.
For the conventional models, our stainless-steel replaceable wear edge design for the 9600 through T670 combines remains a staple product, known for its exceptional durability and efficiency in the field. We continue to innovate and improve these designs to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural community.
Case IH: Enhancing Feeding Efficiency
For Case IH flagship models, our design innovations have led to significant improvements in feeding efficiency. The additional 2 inches of feed lip into the processor have proven to enhance the overall performance of these combines. Our commitment to quality and innovation ensures that we stay ahead in providing the best solutions for farmers using Case IH equipment. The all crop design of the concaves allows farmers to move from crop to crop when time is critical without having to change concaves. For the farmer who doesn't mind, we also offer harder threshing and easier threshing versions of the set up.
See You at the Shows!
We're excited about the ongoing innovations and field tests with our concaves and look forward to sharing more updates at upcoming agricultural shows. Our commitment to quality and performance ensures that Sunnybrook Welding continues to lead the way in agricultural technology.
